How we work
Our stories are produced by following information published by news agencies, official bodies and other media outlets, and retelling it for readers in clear, plain language. We keep a record of the sources behind every story and use it for fact-checking and duplicate checks.
Stories go through quality and sensitive-topic checks before they are published. Our writers use pen names; we explain why on our Authors page. Our rules on accuracy, attribution, corrections and keeping advertising separate from news are set out in our Editorial principles.
