Cookie policy
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files saved in your browser when you visit a website. They let the site remember things such as whether you are signed in or what cookie choices you made. We also keep some information in your browser's local storage (localStorage) instead of cookies; this policy covers both.
- First-party cookies are set by Bora Haber itself.
- Third-party cookies are set by companies whose services we use on the site (for example Google) and are subject to their own policies.

Cookie categories
The cookie banner you see on your first visit offers four categories:
- Necessary: needed for the site to work, stay secure, keep you signed in and remember your cookie choices. These cannot be switched off.
- Analytics: helps us understand what people read and how the site is used. Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity and the identifying cookies of our own counter fall into this category.
- Advertising: lets Google AdSense show and measure ads and, with your consent, personalize them based on your interests.
- Embedded content: loads X and Instagram posts and YouTube videos within articles. When this content loads, the company concerned may set its own cookies.
Non-necessary categories stay off until you consent. Analytics and advertising code is not loaded before you consent. If you don't allow analytics, our own counter only produces aggregated, non-identifying counts.
How to change your choices
- On the site: use the "Cookie settings" link at the bottom of every page to switch categories on or off at any time. When you withdraw consent, the related code stops running from the next page load.
- In your browser: you can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block necessary cookies, some features, such as signing in, may not work.
- Google ads: you can also manage personalized ad preferences on Google's Ad Settings page.

YouTube videos don't load when the page opens; only a cover image is shown, and the video loads from YouTube when you press play. If you haven't allowed "Embedded content", X and Instagram posts appear only as a link to the post.
Notifications and Add to Home Screen
Breaking news notifications and the "Add to home screen" (PWA) feature don't use cookies. They rely on a service worker installed in your browser, which is used to receive notifications and to show an offline page when your connection drops. You can remove notification permission in your browser's site settings and remove the app from your device at any time.
Changes
We update this page as the cookies we use change. If we add a new non-necessary cookie category, we will ask for your consent again.
