Erdoğan Congratulates Azerbaijan on Independence Restoration Day

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan issued a message on Azerbaijan's Independence Restoration Day, marked on October 18. Erdoğan heartily congratulated friendly and brotherly Azerbaijan on behalf of his country and nation.

In his message, Erdoğan conveyed his greetings to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, addressing him as "gardaşım" (my brother). He also sent greetings to his Azerbaijani Turkic brothers, with whom he said "we are always united in sorrow and in joy."

The message was published with an image featuring the Turkish and Azerbaijani flags. In Azerbaijan, October 18 is marked as the anniversary of the country regaining its independence.
