Flood Coverage Damage Claims Pour In for Fire and Motor Own-Damage Insurance

Under flood coverage in Istanbul, Kocaeli, Antalya, Yalova and Bursa, a total of 2 bin 453 damage claims were filed in the fire and kasko lines. In the fire line, compensation was paid for 13 of 1703 claims, totaling 389 bin 535 lira. The kasko line recorded 750 claims, and no payments have been made on them yet.

Fire line by province

In fire insurance, Istanbul had the most claims with 1486. Payments were made for 12 files in Istanbul, totaling 382 bin 886 lira. In the city, 378 bin 263 lira was paid for 11 of 821 claims in the residential group and 4 bin 623 lira for 1 of 563 claims in the commercial group. There are 102 claims in the industrial group, with no payments yet.

Kocaeli recorded 179 fire claims; 6 bin 649 lira was paid for one file, which belongs to one of 75 claims in the residential group. No payments were made in the industrial and commercial groups. Yalova filed 18 fire claims, Antalya 14 and Bursa 6.

Kasko line and outstanding reserves

In kasko, Istanbul filed 670 claims, Kocaeli and Antalya 35 each, Sakarya 9 and Yalova 1; Bursa filed none. No compensation has been paid on these claims yet.

Outstanding claim reserves in fire insurance were set at 1 milyar 389 milyon 248 bin 957 lira for Istanbul and 164 milyon 255 bin 778 lira for Kocaeli. In kasko, Istanbul ranked first with 311 milyon 801 bin 281 lira. The total number of fire and kasko policies in force with flood coverage in the five provinces stands at 5 milyon 219 bin 528.
