Halit Ergenç and Meryem Uzerli came together at the world premiere of the film İmroz’da Bahar (Spring in Imroz). The premiere took place on October 20 at the El Gouna Film Festival in Egypt.

The two actors became widely known for playing Sultan Suleiman and Hürrem in the series Muhteşem Yüzyıl (Magnificent Century). About 15 years later, they are working on the same project again.

The film’s story and release plans

Directed by Özcan Alper and produced by Sky Films, the film is set on Gökçeada (Imroz) in the northeastern Aegean. On the island, where Turkish and Greek cultures intertwine, it tells the story of two people forced to confront their pasts and losses, and asks whether love can get a second chance.

After the premiere in Egypt, the film is said to continue its festival screenings. In December, it is planned to be released internationally in cinemas and to reach audiences on Prime Video in more than 50 countries.
