Draft law heads to the General Assembly
A draft law intended to ensure that the liquidation process for certain investment funds ordered liquidated by the Capital Markets Board is conducted fairly, transparently and effectively, and that payments are given legal assurance, was approved by the Turkish Grand National Assembly's Plan and Budget Committee on 14 October 2026. The draft is expected to be debated in the General Assembly next week.
The Fund Coordination Board also held initial discussions on a new draft regulation envisaging permanent and comprehensive amendments to the Capital Markets Law, aimed at resolving structural problems in capital markets, strengthening regulatory and supervisory mechanisms, and increasing the deterrence of sanctions and penalties.
By a decision of the Capital Markets Board (SPK) dated 15 October 2026, the liquidation of funds founded by Hedef Portföy Yönetim Şirketi A.Ş. will also be subject to the rules set for the A1 Portföy, Bulls Portföy and Pardus Portföy funds. Next week, payments are planned for as many people as possible, particularly those holding money market funds.
