Theologian İhsan Şenocak objected to the "Allah Allah Muhammed Salah" chant rising from the stands in Trabzon for Trabzonspor's Egyptian player Muhammed Salah. Şenocak demanded that the chant be stopped immediately.

Speaking after saying "I say this as a Trabzon native," Şenocak asked how tens of thousands could say this in Trabzon, a city that draws its honor from Islam and faith, and asked where they got the phrase from.

Stop this immediately. You will draw Allah's wrath upon us. Calamity will come, misfortune will come.

Salah's performance at Trabzonspor

The chant was heard from the stands at Papara Park after almost every goal. When Salah arrived in Trabzon on August 5, he was greeted at the airport by tens of thousands of fans. The Egyptian forward leads the golden boot race in the Süper Lig with 8 goals and 3 assists in 8 matches.

Salah scored a hat-trick in the 4-0 defeat of Galatasaray. In Monday night's match against Beşiktaş he scored again and took the lead role in Trabzonspor's 2-0 win. With this result, the claret-blues under Thomas Reis rose to fourth place with 16 points.

In the first week of the UEFA Conference League, Salah had scored his first goal in European competition in the 4-2 defeat of KuPS Kuopio. He scored in all 4 league matches played at Papara Park and netted 7 of his 8 league goals at home.
