In Brazil, a pickup truck whose driver lost control of its speed rammed a garbage truck stopped at the roadside from behind. The sanitation worker at the rear of the truck jumped away at the moment of impact and avoided being crushed.
The reason the pickup lost speed control while travelling along the street has not yet been determined. The worker, who was at the back of the garbage truck trying to load trash onto it, noticed the oncoming vehicle at the last moment and threw himself aside.
The pickup came to a stop after hitting the garbage truck. Both vehicles sustained property damage; the driver and the sanitation worker survived. The worker was reported to be in great shock. The moments were captured by nearby security cameras. An investigation into the incident has been launched.
