Broadcast interrupted

The incident happened during a live segment of the programme Euskadi Quédate on ETB2. Ovejero was explaining the dangerous conditions created by the waves from a coastal promenade when the water suddenly crossed the wall. The impact briefly cut the broadcast. Studio presenter Odei Esnaola appeared concerned as the feed disappeared.

Crew safe

The programme team later confirmed that Ovejero and Raquel were safe and had suffered no serious injury. Ovejero also replied to messages on social media to reassure concerned viewers.

The footage quickly spread widely. Some users noted that powerful waves are common on the coast and that reporting so close to the water carries risks. Others were relieved the crew was unharmed, while some focused on the presenter's reaction when the feed cut out.
