In Esenyurt, a suspect opened fire on a jewelry store in the morning and fled the scene in a car he seized. One person was lightly injured in the attack.
Returned armed after an argument
The incident took place on 1993rd Street in the Piri Reis neighborhood. The suspect, who came to the store, had an argument with the jeweler for an unknown reason. He left the store, then returned a while later with a gun and opened fire on it.
A person working at the pharmacy next to the jewelry store was lightly wounded in the leg. Many police and medical teams were sent to the area after a report. The injured person was taken to hospital by ambulance after initial treatment.
Seized the car at gunpoint
While trying to escape, the suspect forced a driver out of a car at gunpoint, seized it and left the scene in it. The suspect running away after opening fire and fleeing in the seized car was filmed on a mobile phone camera.
Crime scene investigation teams cordoned off the area and carried out an examination. Police continue their efforts to catch the fleeing suspect.
