Cemil Eroğlu, a veteran and the father of Lieutenant Ebru Eroğlu, who was expelled from the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK), has been dismissed from the workplace where he had worked for 35 years. The reason given for the dismissal was "downsizing."

It was learned that Cemil Eroğlu was the only person let go at that workplace. The timing of the decision, shortly after a broadcast in which Ebru Eroğlu appeared, drew attention.

She had described her family's support in the broadcast

In recent days, Ebru Eroğlu answered journalist Barış Terkoğlu's questions on Onlar TV's YouTube channel, talking about what she went through after being expelled from the TSK and her family's attitude. Saying her family stood by her throughout the process, Eroğlu had stated:

Our families were always by our side. They were proud of us.

The expulsion process

After the Military Academy's graduation ceremony on 30 August 2024, lieutenants including class valedictorian Ebru Eroğlu clashed swords and chanted "We are Mustafa Kemal's soldiers." After the footage sparked public debate, a disciplinary investigation was launched against the lieutenants and five were expelled from the TSK. The lawsuit Eroğlu filed seeking reinstatement was rejected by the Ankara 4th Administrative Court.
