Domestic biped robot AKINCI-5 to go on sale toward end of 2027

AKINCI-5, a biped robot developed by AKINROBOTICS, will be the first mass-production model of its series able to move and walk reliably. All of its critical hardware is made in-house, and the robot can be controlled autonomously by its onboard computers without any external cloud system.

AKINROBOTICS Production Coordinator Emre Çağ said the project began in 2019 with the "AKINCI P" model and has gained significant momentum with advancing technology. Çağ noted that motors, reducers, circuit and power boards, and AI training are all done within the company, which provides flexibility and production independence.

According to Çağ, the robot is designed with a joint structure of 19 degrees of freedom. At 128 centimeters tall and 42 kilograms, AKINCI-5 can operate for 1.5 hours on a half-hour charge. Its replaceable battery architecture allows uninterrupted operation in work processes.

Uses and sales plan

Çağ said the robot is designed for sectors where people work. He noted that, as long as it is trained, it will be able to take on tasks in tiring, repetitive, physically demanding or dangerous areas. He added that AKINCI-5 can be adapted to any task within its physical limits and specialized in a wide range of fields, from dancing to sports activities.

The company plans to put the robot on sale toward the end of 2027.
