Google Meet has gained a new live translation feature powered by Gemini 3.5 Live Translate. The system automatically detects the language spoken in a meeting and instantly translates it into the language the user selects. 63 languages, including Turkish, are supported.
How it works
To turn on translation, users pick the language they want to hear from the toolbar. Translation is not limited to text; it can also be listened to as audio. Captions that move in sync with the voice also appear on screen. One user choosing Turkish does not change other participants' settings, so everyone can follow the meeting in their preferred language.
Users can also exclude languages they already know from translation. For example, someone who understands English but needs support in another language does not have to have every speech translated.
Usage limits and rollout
How long translation can be used depends on the account type. Basic Workspace plans and Google AI Pro accounts have a limit of 90 minutes per meeting, while the Ultra plan raises it to eight hours.
The rollout has started on web, Android and iOS, but the feature is not opening to everyone at once. It is expected to reach all compatible accounts by early November.
