Price and exchange rate difference

The price of the MG42 was set at 800,000 Yemeni riyals. This corresponds to about $3,387, or about 170,000 Turkish lira. Because different exchange rates are applied in different regions of Yemen, the dollar equivalent of the amount can vary.

History of the weapon

The MG42, referred to as "Hitler's Saw," entered use by Nazi Germany in 1942. With a mechanism able to fire about 1,200 rounds per minute, it was among the machine guns with the highest rate of fire of its era. Its design influenced the weapons designs of many countries after the war. Improved derivatives were used in various armies for many years.

It is unknown in which period the weapon on sale was brought to Yemen or who used it in the past.
