Klodya Medina, who was shopping at İstinyePark Mall in Istanbul's Sarıyer district and is described as a dual citizen who served in the Israeli army, met with a protest by activists. After the tension, Medina was escorted out of the shopping center by security staff.
How the incident unfolded
The group of about 20-25 people, linked to the Özgürlük Nöbeti (Freedom Vigil) Platform, unfurled Turkish and Palestinian flags and chanted "Down with Zionism! I don't want Zionists in my country!", drawing attention to war crimes. A verbal argument came first, then the tension grew into a brief scuffle. No weapons or knives were reportedly used.
Following a tip-off, police and medical teams were dispatched to the mall and an inquiry was opened. The events were recorded on mobile phones by bystanders.
Allegations
It is alleged that Medina's children serve in the Israeli army and that she played a role in bringing Israeli soldiers to Türkiye under health tourism and arranging medical and accommodation services for them. The 7 October Movement filed a criminal complaint with the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on 16 October over these claims.
