In the Tunalı neighborhood's Sıhhiye Square in Eskişehir's Tepebaşı district, a man punched 19-year-old university student Hiranur Dereli as she walked along the road. The attacker tried to flee; police teams dispatched after a report quickly caught the suspect and detained him.
The suspect was allegedly first trying to stop vehicles in traffic and attacking people at an ATM before turning on Dereli. The attack was caught on security cameras. Dereli's health condition was reported to be good; the investigation continues.
"I was thrown about 1 meter forward"
Dereli, a Political Science student at Anadolu University, said she left home around 09:00 to go to her school's swimming pool. She said she was attacked by a stranger while crossing the road used by trams and vehicles. She said her head, eye, arm and hip were swollen and that she could barely open her eye.
A fist landed on my head and I was thrown about 1 meter forward, toward the ground.

Dereli said the attacker came running at her without saying anything, and that people nearby came to help when she screamed. She said she was given an injection for the pain and has difficulty speaking.
I had my KPSS exam tomorrow and was preparing for it. Since I fell onto the arm I write with, I most likely won't be able to take the exam; I am a victim.
