A simultaneous operation was carried out in Adana over allegations that undue compensation was obtained from 17 insurance companies through staged traffic accidents. 77 suspects were detained. In the investigation conducted by the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, findings were reached indicating that the 76 examined traffic accidents were staged.

According to Justice Minister Akın Gürlek's statement, the criminal organization was found to have obtained undue compensation from 17 insurance companies through staged accidents between 2022 and 2026. The suspects were alleged to have presented damaged vehicles as if involved in a new accident, used the same vehicles repeatedly with different drivers, and prepared accident reports contrary to the facts.

Planned division of labor

Following evaluation of MASAK examinations, HTS records, physical surveillance and camera footage, findings were obtained indicating that the suspects acted with a planned division of labor, from procuring vehicles to preparing damage files, and from receiving insurance payments to distributing them. Money movements worth millions of lira were detected in accounts linked to the suspects.

In the Adana-based operation, legal proceedings were initiated against 88 suspects. Of these, 77 were captured and detained, while 1 suspect was determined to be in prison for another offense. Efforts continue to capture 10 fugitive suspects.

We will not allow criminal organizations that abuse commercial life to obtain unjust gains.
