Germany's Foreign Ministry announced it has summoned Iran's ambassador in Berlin over attack attempts targeting Josef Schuster, President of the Central Council of Jews in Germany, and Volker Beck, President of the German-Israeli Society (DIG).
The ministry stressed that attacks on Jewish life and on those who defend it will not be tolerated anywhere, especially in Germany. It also said the "insidious attack attempts" aimed at Schuster and Beck would have legal consequences.

The ministry said Iran will not be allowed to threaten the free society in Germany.
The statement also recalled that efforts had been made worldwide to have those behind Iran's attack attempts and the Revolutionary Guards added to the European Union's terror list, and said these efforts had succeeded.
