A panel titled "Quality Management System Requirements in Aviation" was held on the final day of a defense and aerospace fair. The panel assessed traceability and supply chain security, both of critical importance for the sector.
Multi-layered checks against counterfeit parts
It was stressed that quality and legal units must work in an integrated way to identify counterfeit and misleading parts. Participants said approved supplier lists have been strengthened in line with AS9100 and other aviation standards, and that testing in incoming quality inspections and role-based staff awareness training have been increased.
To detect fraud in original manufacturer documents or counterfeit production, suspicious materials are reportedly subjected to detailed laboratory and microstructure tests. It was noted that nonconforming parts are prevented from being treated as ordinary scrap; to firmly block their return to the supply chain, they are isolated with a special code and put through a "controlled destruction" procedure.
The fair closes its doors
Bringing together regional and global players in defense and aerospace, the event offered participants not only a space to display products and technology but also a communication network for direct contact with decision-makers, public institutions and investors. Planned bilateral meetings were held with foreign purchasing delegations hosted at the invitation of Türkiye's defense authorities, as well as international delegations, military delegations and sector leaders, laying the groundwork for long-term cooperation.
The fair covered a broad range from land, naval, air and space technologies to cybersecurity and logistics solutions, with large companies and innovative startups represented equally. Stakeholders were able to follow sector trends and technological developments and assess investment opportunities.
