Sergen Yalçın has been appointed to the head coach post of the A National Football Team, vacated by Vincenzo Montella. The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) board met on October 20 at the Riva Hasan Doğan Camp and Training Facilities and made the decision there. An agreement in principle had previously been reached with Yalçın.
At the meeting, Ediz Kıray was also named the board member responsible for the national team following Mecnun Otyakmaz's resignation from the board. Kıray was notified of his new role at the meeting.
Yalçın's remarks
Speaking about the role, Yalçın said it was a very important job and added:
Ay-yıldız her şeyin üzerindedir. Her teknik direktörün gelmek istediği yerdir. Halkın teknik direktörü olmak çok güzel. Benim için de gurur ve mutluluk verici.
