The Revenue Administration is continuing its work to move tax services online. Tax payments, petitions and applications, notifications and tax return filing can be done through the Digital Tax Office. The platform has received more than 750 million logins since it opened.
Electronic documents and user numbers
The platform currently offers 261 different services. In the first 9 months of the year, about 18.3 million applications and petitions were received electronically. Electronic issuing of documents such as invoices, self-employment receipts, waybills and receipts produced about 13 billion documents in 2025 alone.
The number of e-invoice users rose 313 percent compared with 2021 and passed 2.2 million in the first 9 months of this year. E-ledger users increased 680 percent to more than 2.2 million.
Automation and central audit
The administration uses robotic process automation (RPA) to speed up, standardize and make more efficient the work carried out in its central and provincial organization. Many transactions can thus run electronically at any hour with reduced human intervention; correspondence is handled automatically and documents are delivered to recipients through electronic channels. Informational and reminder SMS messages to selected taxpayer groups are also sent with these tools.
Under the application, reports on 195 different subjects are produced every month and thousands of letters are prepared automatically. Within the scope of regret-based violation corrections, correction slips and notices are also issued automatically and delivered to taxpayers by e-notification.
Under the Smart Tax Office efforts, the Central Audit System (MDS) is applied: transactions at tax offices are monitored centrally and audited regularly. With the system introduced in 2024, monthly reports on 68 separate subjects are produced across 860 tax offices, and a follow-up mechanism is run to complete the actions related to the reports.
The Revenue Administration also aims to analyze data with new-generation technologies such as artificial intelligence, big data and blockchain, redesign business processes and improve its service delivery capacity.
Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek said digital transformation has both made taxpayer transactions easier and sped up processes, adding:
With these applications, the aim is to make access to services easier, shorten processing times, increase the effectiveness of administrative processes and use public resources efficiently.
